"The Tabernacle has a seating capacity of 8,000. It was built to accommodate the great gatherings of the "Mormon" people at their annual and semi-annual conferences. The acoustic properties are exceptionally fine, the ticking of an ordinary clock being distinctly audible in all parts. One of the unique features of the building is the great organ. It has been rebuilt and enlarged from time to time. It is widely known for its excellent tonal qualities. A free organ recital is given daily for Salt Lake City visitors.
