Yes, this is only for the head. Have you broken one of your Hamm's decanter heads? Well, I can fix your problem!!! Hamm's Bear Head measures approximately 3" tall, the bottom opening is about 1.75" across.
I believe this head goes to the 1988 Hamm's Bear Decanter that measures approximately 11 3/8" tall but don't quote me on that, I've looked at the decanters that we have and a few online and this is the head that matches closest.
